Description

I have a pfSense deployment that needs the packages in the package system but is not connected to the internet. I have followed the directions at: http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Creating_Your_Own_Package_Repository - Once I set the Base URL it fails to even send a SYN/ACK to the server. I have tried putting the Repo outside and inside the pfsense LAN, both fail to even attempt to connect to the repo.

If no other way is there a way that I can scp a few of the packages over, or manually add the packages?

Thanks,
Rob

Please start a forum thread for support issues. This most definitely works (we do it all the time). Others on the forum can assist you with getting it working in your setup.

Found the problem. The package repo does a lookup for www.pfsense.org and if it fails the package pull completely bails instead of trying to get to the configured repo. Setting a static entry in the DNS forwarder for www.pfsense.org -> 127.0.0.1 solves this issue.
