i would have reopened https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/6870 , but unfortunately i can`t
relayd is unusable in it`s current state in pfsense for load balancing dns, as it won`t handle udp+tcp altogether ( requirement nowadays, see http://www.networkworld.com/article/2231682/cisco-subnet/cisco-subnet-allow-both-tcp-and-udp-port-53-to-your-dns-servers.html ) and pfsense doesn`t provide flexibility to configure it in the required way.
