Redmine pfSense - Feature #2205 (Resolved): relayd enhancements in system_advanced_misc.phphttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/22052012-02-15T09:36:45ZPierre POMESpierre.pomes@gmail.com

I suggest to add two new settings in system_advanced_misc.php for a better relayd control. (cf screenshot attached)

The goal is to use the directive "timeout" and "interval" in relayd.conf.

Patch is ready, I can commit in mainline for upcoming 2.1 if nobody has any objection.
pfSense - Bug #2157 (Resolved): Changing relayd settings in system_advanced_misc.php does not tri...https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/21572012-01-31T18:04:52ZPierre POMESpierre.pomes@gmail.com

When changing relayd settings in this screen (for example: "use sticky connections"), /var/etc/relayd.conf should be updated and relayd should be reloaded.
pfSense - Feature #2035 (Needs Patch): Add hw.intr_storm_threshold in sysctl tunning list.https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/20352011-12-03T10:46:48ZPierre POMESpierre.pomes@gmail.com

As discussed with cmb, it would be nice to add hw.intr_storm_threshold in the sysctl list in the GUI.

FreeBSD's default is probably sane for most cases, and determining the appropriate default is dependent on hardware specifics. On slower CPUs, the default is appropriate. On fast ones, it needs to be considerably more. Not worth the effort to try to write something to figure out what it should be dynamically based on the hardware. Adding it as a tunable in the sysctl list, left by default to FreeBSD's default, is probably the best option.

A too low value may result in "interrupt storm detected on irqxxxx; throttling interrupt source".
pfSense - Feature #1185 (Closed): PHP compression activationhttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/11852011-01-11T21:27:17ZPierre POMESpierre.pomes@gmail.com

Need to reactivate PHP compression:
- turn on zlib.output_compression in php.ini.
- make sure all generated downloads are using the "Content-length" header (IE has some troubles in https without this header)
- for each download, use something like :

if (ini_get('zlib.output_compression')) {
ini_set('zlib.output_compression','Off');
}
