Redmine pfSense - Feature #946 (New): Allow aliases to be used to define IPsec phase 2 networkshttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/9462010-10-12T08:15:55ZJim Pingle

Eventually it would be nice to allow using aliases on the IPsec phase 2 definition screen for local and remote networks. It would be an easy and clean way to avoid having to manually make many entries that are identical except for the subnet definitions.

The GUI code would just need to add the alias autcomplete mechanism to the "Address" field, perhaps either by sharing the "Network" choice in type, so it would be "Network or alias", or use a choice for just "Alias". We might need to restrict it to host and network alias types. The backend would just need to generate the appropriate pairings of phase 2 declarations in racoon.conf, matching each entry in the local alias/network to an entry in the remote alias/network.
pfSense - Feature #895 (New): PPP subsystem MPPE/MPPC supporthttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/8952010-09-16T13:38:10ZSadara Kaelsadara@xynexus.com.au

mpd5 and kernel are missing M$ MPPC/MPPE modules and configureation options.

This would benefit all mpd5 services (pppoe connections, pppoe server, l2tp VPN, and PPTP server)
These are supported by the HIFN hardware accelerators as well, but I am unaware the exact software requirements
This could also be added as a package instead of a core system.
pfSense - Feature #790 (New): Advanced options for dnsclient (resolv.conf)https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/7902010-08-03T01:39:58ZMike Stupalov
Possibility to add additional options in resolv.conf:

timeout:n (default 5)

attempts:n (default 2)

maybe other (see man resolv.conf)

Example:

options timeout:1 attempts:1

OpenVPN can send 'dhcp-option' commands via push replies, available via foreign_option_ environment variable in the up script. These are currently ignored by our 'up' script. Some that should be supported:

redirect-gateway def1

DNS server(s)

domain name

Those look to be the only ones applicable here.
pfSense - Feature #701 (New): Interface groups with NAThttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/7012010-06-26T20:47:27ZChris Buechlercbuechler@gmail.com

In some scenarios it would be helpful to use interface groups with NAT (rdr and outbound).
pfSense - Feature #628 (New): Ability to specify listen IP address of management services (SSH, w...https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/6282010-05-31T06:19:33ZJohn Hansen

It would be nice if you can change the secure shell listen IP address from any to fix IP address from web interface

Current (Any IP)
tcp4 0 0 .ssh *. LISTEN
tcp6 0 0 .ssh *. LISTEN
pfSense - Feature #521 (New): Group manager Assigned Permissionshttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/5212010-04-18T14:52:58ZLarry Titusadministrator@pseudo-servers.com

Change the Assigned Privileges section of the Group Manager to use the same type of "swap box" as Group Memberships to make it easier to add/remove multiple permissions.
pfSense - Feature #371 (New): Allow moving of bogon and RFC 1918 ruleshttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/3712010-02-21T16:52:55ZHenrik Kaare Poulsenhenrik@kaarposoft.dk

Inserting a custom rule before the private and bogon rules would be useful, e.g. to insert a custom non-logging rule before the pre-defined logging rules.
pfSense - Feature #336 (New): Option to create lagg under assign interfaceshttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/3362010-02-06T04:29:04ZPerry Masoncrazypark2@yahoo.dk

I find it easier on install to assign interfaces and vlans. So a option for lagg would also come in handy, especially if wan or lan will need lagg.

Workflow:
Do you want to set up LAGG now [y|n]?
Do you want to set up VLANs now [y|n]?
pfSense - Feature #290 (New): Add Multi-WAN awareness to UPnPhttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/2902010-01-09T10:11:50ZJim Pingle

Eventually it would be nice to allow selection of the WAN-type interface used by miniupnpd. Right now it's hardcoded as WAN.

If it can be made to operate on two WAN-type interfaces, that would be ideal, but failing that it would be good to have a selector to choose which WAN is used when more than one is available.
pfSense - Feature #286 (New): Backup/restore users individuallyhttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/2862010-01-05T22:25:25ZChris Buechlercbuechler@gmail.com

Would be nice to add users to the "Backup area" individual backup/restore, so the user manager can be backed up/restored separately from everything else
pfSense - Feature #228 (New): Multi-WAN support with same gateway on multiple WANshttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/2282009-12-16T22:50:26ZChris Buechlercbuechler@gmail.com

Currently multi-WAN cannot function where multiple WANs have the same gateway IP because of the way PF's route-to functions.
pfSense - Feature #96 (New): Add "All local networks" to source and destination drop down boxen i...https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/962009-09-22T18:16:55ZScott Ullrichsullrich@gmail.com

This would allow easily negating all local networks (internet) where usage of "floating rules" is not desirable easily.
pfSense - Todo #33 (New): L2TP users integration with user managerhttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/332009-07-14T16:46:31ZChris Buechlercbuechler@gmail.com

The L2TP Users tab needs to go away and be integrated with the user manager.
pfSense - Todo #32 (New): PPPoE Server users integration with user managerhttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/322009-07-14T16:44:23ZChris Buechlercbuechler@gmail.com

PPPoE Server users tab needs to go away and be integrated into the user manager along with all the other services.
