resolv.conf was populated in this case.

This instance was exacerbated by AutoConfigBackup so it was even worse than usual. I'll create a separate ticket for that
pfSense - Bug #1407: GUI is sluggish without working DNShttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/1407?journal_id=65372011-07-28T15:57:27ZErmal Luçieri@pfsense.org

Hi all,

I just tested successfull with the following snapshot:
2.0-RC3 (amd64)
built on Mon Aug 15 22:32:41 EDT 2011

What I did:
- removed every dns server entry <del>> webgui response is normal.
</del> disabled internet link so no dns server reachable -> webgui response is normal.

So, I think this is working now.

Peter
pfSense - Bug #1407: GUI is sluggish without working DNShttps://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/1407?journal_id=67372011-08-16T05:52:43ZErmal Luçieri@pfsense.org

Status changed from Feedback to Resolved

When having localhost as a first server in resolv.conf, as is done on latest snapshots, this bug does not manifest.
So basically this is related to the resolver library timeouts.

The workaround works for now and there are very rare occasions when a forwarder is not running on pfSense itself.
