Description

Hello,

There appears to be a discrepancy in the description. Services / DNS Resolver / Advanced Settings - TTL for Host Cache Entries.

Found in PFSense Plus v23.01 ->

Entry specifies Minutes, but description calls out Seconds, as well as states Default is in Minutes.

Attached screenshot for reference.

Thank you,
Jason -

  • Subject changed from Discrepancy in Description to Discrepancy in "TTL for Host Cache Entries" Description
  • Assignee set to Jim Pingle
  • Target version set to 2.7.0
  • Plus Target Version set to 23.09

That is a bit awkward as it is. The stored value and value in the backend is in seconds but at some point the GUI drop-down was changed to display the valid choices in minutes.

The "in seconds" bit can be removed from the description and then it should be OK. We could maybe also change that bit at the end to "The default value is 15 minutes (900 seconds)" but with everything referencing minutes that's probably unnecessary.
