Description
Plus 24.03 has tailscale-1.56.1 available in the Package Manager. Would be great to pull in 1.6.0 if possible.

1.68.1 is available with client security fixes
https://www.freshports.org/security/tailscale
https://pkgs.org/download/tailscale
I see there were some Tailscale client security updates in recent weeks.
https://tailscale.com/security-bulletins
So I updated CE 2.7.2 to tailscale 1.68.1
pkg add -f https://pkg.freebsd.org/FreeBSD:14:amd64/latest/All/tailscale-1.68.1.pkg
tailscale version
1.68.1
go version: go1.22.4
Seems to be working.

I reported a TS routing issue here 3 months ago: https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/14556
Hopefully I described it well enough for someone on the dev team to test if they're able to reproduce the issue. I would like to know if client upgrade addresses this problem, or if it's a pf related routing issue.

Try it. You can always revert to the official package.

I guess pfSense CE 2.7.2 and 2.8.0 are not important to Netgate. Thanks for letting us know us know the future of CE is dead and we all need to move to OPNsense. "So long, and thanks for all the fish."

The latest CE 2.8.0 development version also has tailscale 1.68.1.

So I feel like the approach to manually including a tailscale release with each pfSense build isn't going to work to well since the client is so frequently updated.
Can we add an option to pull the latest package from FreshPorts in the pfSense package manager? (https://www.freshports.org/security/tailscale)

+1 for that as 1.70 is there this morning.
