Feature #15377
openOffline Storage of Boot Environments onto USB MEDIA
0%
Description
What I wish would happen:
Boot environments has an option to format an external drive/SSD/HDD/FLASH for use with offline boot environment backups.
It would automatically create a mount point and use that to backup with. We could offline store the Boot Environments to the External Drive. A new icon would show up in the GUI after with a drive icon to copy boot environments to an external drive.
SSD drives are fast again the lack at times the space that an HDD would give users.
For security the pfSense GUI must be used to format the drive, it could even have an option to encrypt the BE and lock it to be used only with that device if needed that way.
Users already can access usb media so why not make it easy to store BE onto a external offline backup?
