Bug #15610
openOSPF with "Redistribute Default" enabled and "Always Redistribute" disabled does not react to WAN link down events
0%
Description
OSPF with "Redistribute Default" enabled and "Always Redistribute" disabled does not stop redistributing the default route in case the kernel default route is removed due to the WAN link going down.
In case "System -> Routing -> Default gateway" is switched to "None" or the default route is manually removed with "route delete default", frr stops redistributing the default route as I would expect.
In my particular case, a new default route redistributed by another similarly configured remote router in the same OSPF network is added to the routing table and internet connectivity continues to persist across the network.
In case the WAN link goes down by unplugging the cable to the WAN interface, the default route is removed from the routing table, but ospf continues to redistribute the default route and as such breaking internet connectivity on the network.
The missing default route is not detected by frr until the service is forcefully manually restarted.
