Description

The gateway order shown at System > Routing > Gateways uses the following priority:
  1. Gateways assigned to an interface
  2. "Null" gateways
  3. Index in config.xml
  4. Gateway name

The page allows a user to affect the ordering of the 3rd and 4th steps. The current purpose of gateway ordering is to affect the behavior of the "Automatic" option for the default gateways. The automatic gateway detection is only meant as a last resort. A user may instead use gateway groups with gateway recovery to affect the order in which the system uses configured gateways.

Given the above, the ability to manually order gateways is unnecessary and can be removed.
