I'd like to switch to net-snmp from begemot snmp, but still retain access to the BEGEMOT-PF-MIB oids.
I do want to use snmpv3 , so that's the main reason why I'd like to switch to net-snmp.
My simple plan to do this was to have begemot-snmpd listen to a loopback port, and use net-snmp to proxy that oid space to it.
It's currently possible to configure extend and extendfix entries, so adding proxy entries shouldn't be that hard. A alternative would be to give the administrator a textbox where they can put raw net-snmp configuration, and they can dig their own hole to live in.
