Description

Tested on 26.10-DEVELOPMENT (built on Wed Aug 12 6:00:00 UTC 2026)

When I enabled CoreDNS, the DNS Resolver was disabled. I then deleted the DNS servers configured for the LAN interface in the Kea DHCP server settings and applied the changes. Because pfSense did not recognize CoreDNS as an active local DNS service, it populated the DNS server fields with the addresses configured under System > General Setup, displaying them as grayed-out placeholder text. These addresses were also provided to LAN clients via DHCP.

When CoreDNS is enabled, the expected default is the LAN interface IP address.
