closedWebgui login - no beeps anymore.

Description
Installed letest build and found that pfsense does not beep anymore when I login to webgui. I know that not everyone likes it, but it would be good to make an option to disable, instead disabling it globally.

pfSense only beep when it boots and when it shutdown. There is an option to disable it on System->Advanced->Notifications. Nothing has changed on this, maybe it's an issue with your hardware's speaker.

Renato, I think you misunderstood the description. Hazard to say he's talking about this: http://kb.site5.com/shell-access-ssh/putty-how-to-change-the-bell-style-and-settings/
Connect via SSH or serial console. Now, login via web GUI. You get a bell on the machine the serial console/SSH session is connected to. Not from the HW speaker on the pfSense box.

I checked and this didn't change, I could also reproduce the bell here. Maybe it's something that has changed on your terminal application.

On 2.1 installed, my PC speaker on pfsense box beeps every time I log onto pfsense webgui, with latest 2.1.1 builds it does not beep anymore I am not sure when it has broken, may be in February builds. I think this feature is related to this topic
https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=35133.0 and already exists even in 2.0.
BTW I also hear bootup and shutdown beeps, so hardware working flawlessly.

Ok I found that this BEEP is disabled by enabling option "Password protect the console menu", so this is not messed up with latest changes, my mistake, so sorry. But... this option behavior is not expected. This is bug or feature?

It makes sense. When a user authenticate on web interface, syslog sends a log message to all logged in consoles, and these messages trigger a beep, it's not something intentional that pfSense developers added there, it's how stock FreeBSD works when a message is sent to ttys. When you disable the console auto login, there is not logged session to receive the syslog message. If you login on your console the beep will happen again.
