Description

A client just ran into the same problem I've noted a few times previously - you still can't install an EGP daemon (OpenBGPd, BGP) and an IGP daemon (Quagga, OSPF) on the same system without breaking both.

There are many valid use cases for running both protocols simultaneously, and deploying four firewalls to achieve redundancy instead of two isn't always an economically-viable option.

Would it not be possible to chroot() one or both packages so that they stop stepping on each other's toes? Or even just allow Quagga to run BGP?

(And, yes, I consider this a bug, not a Feature Request. Your opinion may differ, of course.)

We're looking at adding BIRD as a package, which would allow BGP and OSPF to run.
