AutoConfigBackup status reported incorrectly

Description
Around 12PM Central time (9/24/17), AutoConfigBackup showed some alerts about unsuccessfully backing up the config.
Prompting a backup up in the GUI at Diag > ACB, the config seems to backup based on the Green succeeded message and the restore tab listing the backup.
However, the messages in syslog indicate that it failed.

This seems to be presenting in another way also, where System Log will show a successful backup, despite the backup not being made successfully.
For example:
Sep 14 15:20:14 php-fpm /system_advanced_firewall.php: End of portal.pfsense.org configuration backup (success). Sep 14 15:20:14 php-fpm /system_advanced_firewall.php: Beginning https://portal.pfsense.org configuration backup. Using the “Backup now” function returns “Backup completed successfully.”
But there are no backups listed under restore, in this case.
This could be another unrelated bug entirely, although this is the closest ACB bug I could find for the behavior.

ACB moved to base a while back, updating issue accordingly.

This affects only the legacy "Gold" ACB system which is no longer in use.
