Description

Attempts to use the pfSense software to distribute multicast streams are finding that igmpproxy consumes CPU to the point of failure at a "few hundred" streams. It appears that processing interrupts for multicast traffic takes a while in the kernel which manifests itself as 100% interrupt processing and 100% igmpproxy CPU usage.
