Description

I've upgraded my pfsense from 256meg to 512 and it no longer runs.

Receiving "Fatal error zend opcache cannot allocate buffer for interned strings" After increasing RAM allocated to VM from 256MB to 512 or 1024 MB.

It will not do anything from the console except enter a shell and reboot or power off.

I moved the memory back to 256 and it works fine. Shouldn't I be able to increase the memory?

It happens for me also.

This is a pretty new installation with only one interface on the wan side. I was just looking to provide a DHCP server.

This is almost certainly a problem with your environment, not pfSense. I have a number of VMs on 2.4.5 and 2.5.0 that use 256, 384, 512, and 1024+ RAM and all are OK. Start your own new thread on the forum with details about your hypervisor and other environmental factors. If this is VMWare ESX, make sure that you have updated to the most recent supported (by VMWare) version of ESX and that the VMs use the highest possible hardware compatibility level (for example, VM version 14 on ESX 6.7)
