Feature #10887
closedUnify DNS Host Overrides in Resolver and Forwarder
0%
Description
There is no reason why two separate host-override systems should be used. It only serves to make managing a lot of overrides more painful.
(1) The host-overrides should exist in a global position within the configuration file and not specific to the dns resolver used.
(2) Managing overrides would be made much easier to have a single host-override screen regardless which dns resolver is enabled. This would make switching dozens or hundreds of overrides between the DNS providers much easier.

Eventually the forwarder will be removed so it doesn't make sense to expend effort here which will eventually make things more confusing.
Also it wouldn't make sense to separate host overrides and domain overrides, and domain overrides have different incompatible options in the resolver and forwarder.
