Description

It seems at some point either public-dns.info added a wrong IP to their list of public DNS servers, Google changed something in their network setup or there were some change in the way pfblockerng use the list. If I enable the list most Google services seem at first to work fine but users randomly starts complaining about Google being down. I'm aware this most likely isn't directly a part of pfblockerng but since Google is pretty critical I thought I would create a bug report. Feel free to ignore and close :)

Steps to Reproduce

  • Disable all feeds
  • Enable the Public_DNS4_all
  • Open a private/incognito browser window
  • Go to Google.com
  • It is not loading....
  • Go to a national / local Google page (like Google.se or Google.no)
  • The page loads but the consent screen doesn't (api.google.com ?) blocking the page

Fix

  • Disable Public_DNS4_all and everything is back to normal
