Description

I've been running a gif tunnel on my pfSense box to Hurricane Electric's Tunnel Broker service for a number of years now, and have only seen this since moving from 2.5.1 to 2.6.0-dev to fix #11805.

Since upgrading, I'm seeing massive periodic spikes in the traffic counters on my gif interface, far above what the interface could ever handle. My VDSL link caps out at 80mbit, so it's impossible this tunnel could ever push anywhere near 2 gigabits.

Interestingly, it seems to start and stop on its own, for no apparent reason.

I'm also now seeing the following in my syslog from vnstat, again - this has only started since moving to 2.6.0-dev.
