Description

On my two XG-1541, I have configured 1 LAGG, 67 VLANs on this LAGG, 67 networks interfaces and I have enabled igmpproxy on 16 of theses interfaces.

If igmpproxy is enabled when I plug DAC (Direct Attach Copper) cable on our additional Chelsio T520-SO-CR network card's port, XG-1541 immediately reboot. At reboot, the webgui prints "Netgate pfSense Plus has detected a crash report or programming bug. Click here for more information.". Crash report is attached.
Obviously, the DAC cable is already plugged at the other side (and the port is UP) when I plug it to XG-1541.
Disable igmpproxy before plug DAC cable = no crash.
This bug is reproducible almost 100% of the time.

A crash can also occur when igmpproxy is enabled and I "Apply changes" in Interfaces > Assignments. Sometimes, crash don't occur when I click on "Apply changes", but after, when I reload igmpproxy from Status > Services. This bug is reproducible 80 % of time.

Please note that crash don't occur when I "Temporarily Disable CARP" in Status > CARP (failover).

IMO, network interfaces status change (up/down) is the root cause.

  • Status changed from New to Ready To Test

This needs to be tested against a current pfSense version, preferably a dev snapshot. For reference, this looks like the upstream bug reported here:
