Description

Hello,

We use Pfsense's DHCP server to assign IP addresses on a WIFI network used with lots of users and BYOD. We have dozens of Pfsense servers spread over several sites.

We recontent the concern of the removal of expired leases. These are not automatically deleted.

Fortunately, since version 2.5 of Pfsense, we have a "Clear all DHCP leases" button which has been added in the DHCP leases status page.

However, we would like this functionality to be able to be executed automatically at a frequency of your choice (daily, weekly, monthly ...).

This way, the expired leases would be deleted automatically and we would not need to go to the Pfsense to do it regularly with the button.

Could you implement this possibility in the next version ?

Thank you very much for your attention to my request.

Best regards,

That is not a typical requirement for DHCP as it will automatically recycle expired leases with the appropriate settings. We used to have functionality to clean up leases but it scaled poorly and removing the entire lease database is far too harsh.

You can certainly setup a job like that yourself but it's not a common enough need that it would get added as a built-in feature.
