Description

When the CARP VIPs are set to sync from Master to Backup under the CARP Settings it immediately adds new VIPs to the backup node, however the interface ID seems to often (if not always) come across wrong for VLANs and WIFI interfaces.

In my example on my "Master" box I have a CARP VIP for my VLAN gateway called "VLAN2", which uses the interface VLAN2. The backup box also has the same interface name for the same VLAN. Every time a sync occurs the backup CARP node shows the Interface as "WIFI" or "WAN" and gives a notification that the Interface (WIFI) does not have an appropriate IP/network for the configured VIP.

Check your config.xml on both - for CARP sync to function correctly the interfaces must exist on both units and they must be in the config in the same exact order. I'm betting that you have an interface on the slave that is not in the same order as the master's config.

Yep, that's the issue, thanks Jim. I'm still having some trouble with the VLAN passing traffic after failing over but I'm trying to eliminate hardware as being a potential cause.

OK. I'll close this out. Feel free to post on the forums to see if anyone else has hit any similar VLAN issues.
