Description

Remote access / site-to-site VPN clients that are connected do NOT show up on the OpenVPN status page or the dashboard widget on the server.

On the client side of the remote access (another pfSense box in my case), a connected "remote access" server will be listed as a connected client. That's probably not a bug but an FYI.

Are you talking about shared key clients/servers, or site-to-site PKI clients? And when viewed from which side?

OpenVPN itself does not report the status of connected clients for Shared Key servers - it's a limitation of OpenVPN, not our GUI.

Shared key clients do show up when viewed from the client side, as do PKI connections when viewed from the client side.

SSL/TLS Peer-to-Peer OpenVPN, so I'm guessing that's PKI. This is on the server side - the client side shows the connection TO the server just fine.

It sounds like it's an OpenVPN limitation and not much can be done, then.

We did fix up quite a few areas of the OpenVPN status since this ticket was last updated. At the moment I believe we're showing everything we can.

The only thing we don't show is a list of all possible clients (local users, certs, etc), which could get quite lengthy and would be impossible in some cases (auth only, via radius, it could never be complete). So that's understandable to leave out.
