Description

FreeBSD source has enabled the functionality for 2.5g and 5g Nbase-T interfaces in this commit https://cgit.freebsd.org/src/commit/sys/dev/ixgbe/ixgbe.h?id=d381c807510de2ebb453a563540bd17e344a2aab
For those of us who have 2.5g and/or 5g networking, enabling this functionality would be amazing. Additionally, it seems the Intel drivers pfsense uses are quite old. It's possible that that needs to be fixed in order to support the feature request.

The latest drivers can be compiled from source here https://downloadmirror.intel.com/727979/27_2.zip

I'd appreciate this as well. I was under the impression it was already supported from what I've read, and have a new device coming with i225-v NICs.

  • Status changed from New to Closed
  • Priority changed from High to Normal
  • Target version deleted (2.7.0)

We'll pick up that change naturally through updates to the base OS when the time comes.
