new LCDPROC package will not install

version. pfSense should be upgraded before
installing any new package.

No issues installing or upgrading it here. Make sure the update branch is set to the appropriate version that matches what you are running on there.

Probably best to move it to the forum then, there may be something that needs fixed on your system, but it's not a general issue and isn't specific to this package.

The installed packages Widget did not show there was a new package. Package manage did, but that was when it failed. I re-selected and saved the branch setting and the installed packages Widget showed a new LCDPROC package was available. I was able to install, but LCDPROC would not automatically restart. I had to disable, save, select which screens, save, then re-enable LCDPROC. All working now. Since I upgraded these systems from CE, perhaps there was a stale file listing the CE branch somewhere on the system. Perhaps my config.xml file has some incompatiable settings for LCDPROC that were incompatible with the released LCDPROC package, which is why it would not automatically restart.
