Description

Upgrade to 23.09.a.20230920.1314 caused boot fail with "cant find bin/sh" in console.

Resolved with config recovery and reinstall

There isn't nearly enough information here to know what happened in your case, but it sounds like maybe you didn't see the right filename in that error and you hit this:

Yes the "/bin/sh: cannot open /etc/rc: No such file or directory" does match what i was seeing. I had just upgraded to the snapshot 23.09.a.20230920.1314 from a snapshot published ~2days ago.

Apologies as I put it out as a canary in the coal mine as i had made the poor choice to update immediately prior to a Zoom call and had to restore service and was not able to export pertinent info other then a recollection of the screen and the destination snapshot version.
