Description

This bug has existed for at least three years. I don't know what triggers it, but it appears to be triggered behind the scenes. It rarely happens with user action.

Symptom: One or more line breaks or newlines are deleted from OpenVPN custom options. This seems to occur not during the save action of an update to an OpenVPN config but instead when the router reboots or some other action performed on the router. It's possible it is related to load balancing or service watchdog. When the newline/line break is deleted, it causes two custom options to be combined, breaks the OpenVPN config and then the OpenVPN client remains disconnected due to a parsing error.

I've been trying to cause this myself, but it happens randomly sometimes days or weeks apart. I use multiple remote hosts in my OpenVPN config and this is usually the lines that get combined.

It's not a bug. Read the text under the advanced options field. Directives in that box must be separated by a semicolon, not newlines.
