Hello folks,

starting from release 2.7.0, AWS network driver if_ena.ko is not present in the /boot/kernel/ folder.

This make impossible to keep uptodate systems installed on AWS.

Could you please check?

Thanks
Marco

CE is not intended for use on cloud providers. Use the existing AMI for pfSense Plus to run it on AWS.

Hello Jim,

pfSense Plus is not free of charge as CE is.

As I told before 2.6.0 has the if_ena driver but 2.7.0 hasn't and I'm not able to find a pfSense official note regarding the removal of this driver from the supported ones.

If the intention of pfSense CE is to drop the usage on this free version on cloud based servers (such as AWS) against the enforced usage of pfsense Plus (not free of charge) then, please release an official note about it.

Best regards,
Marco
