As descibed in the tailscale docs here > https://tailscale.com/kb/1281/app-connectors
App Connectors are a good thing and as far as I understand, an implementation might only need a GUI switch to add "tailscale up --advertise-connector --advertise-tags=tag:<connector-tag-name>"
With this, user might be able to connect to internet services without going through the internet.
