I just loaded FreeBSD 15.0-CURRENT and it does have `cxgbev` driver in it, while pfSense 2.8.0 doesn't.
Without this driver I can't use VF device of my Chelsio T4 NIC.

Ping? I imagine enabling a driver must be a trivial thing to do.

Here is a potential fix: https://github.com/pfsense/FreeBSD-src/pull/57
Though I have no idea how to build and test it myself.

  • Status changed from New to In Progress

I can confirm this driver is not present for virtual Chelsio NICs using SRIOV.

This should be included in pfSense CE 2.9.0 and likely in the next pfSense Plus release, as they will both share a similar kernel.

Marking as In Progress until we have a build with this to test.
