Bug #1647
closedCaptive portal timeout

Description
using 2.0-RC3 (i386)
built on Mon Jul 4 16:48:37 EDT 2011
On captive portal, after setting a IDLE timeout (not the hard one) the user authenticates and after the requested page appears, at the first click the connection does nothing, it keeps trying to connect and then times out.
The list of currently logged users shows no users logged in. The user is instead logged, I sniffed the traffic and watched the logs.
Removing the timeout works fine.
Using hard timeout works fine.
Installed packaged: squid, in transparent mode.

Have you tried this without squid installed? And this works normally without an idle timeout defined?

Tried to unset the proxy transparent mode. Same thing.
Uninstalled squid, same thing.
It seems to log the user out after a minute or so.
After logging in, if I update the status page, after about a minute the user disappears.

Please give the captiveportal log when this happens?
Also what is the idle timeout value you configure?

Closing in favor of #1653 which has a lot more detail and appears to be the same issue.
