Zabbix 6.0 LTS has reached the end of full support as of February 28 (8 months ago). Upgrading Zabbix servers to version 7.x is likely the best practice for everyone. However, pfSense CE 2.7.2 still does not have support for it in the package manager.

pfSense CE is part of many people's infrastructure, and having support for the new version of the Zabbix proxy and agent is essential.

The request for 7.0 support was raised in issue #15548. That issue was closed since Zabbix 7.0 support was added to pfSense 24.11, despite many users expressing concern about needing the same package for CE 2.7.2.

I don’t believe this issue is a duplicate of #15548, since that issue was closed. Suggesting. to me, that the admins considered it only in relation to pfSense 24.11. This issue specifically concerns CE 2.7.2 support.

If this issue is considered a duplicate, then I believe #15548 should be reopened.
