Description

When adding a new gateway in the interface page, it asks you to specify a "Gateway Name" for the interface; when submitted, it does not seem to perform validation on the name.

For example, enter a name with a space in it (i.e., "Fibre ISP") and save it; it seems to save the Gateway properly, which now appears in the Gateway drop down this. This seems to be an error however, as if you attempt to submit the page it tells you that you must specify a valid gateway, and the one you added has disappeared.

I only resolved this when I went to the Static Routes section to try to manually add the gateway; when I tried that name, it finally told me it had invalid characters.

It seems that name validation should be added to the interfaces "quick add" box.

  • Subject changed from Adding new Gateway in interface page does not work with invalid characters to Adding new Gateway in interface page needs input validation
  • Target version deleted (2.0)

it has no input validation currently (partially because it can't check the subnet before the interface is configured)
