Description

For instance, I had a static dhcp lease with the hostname set to 6013. However, when I enabled this interface's dhcpd service, dhcpd would fail to start. The syslog would contain this entry:

"php: /status_services.php: The command '/usr/local/sbin/dhcpd user dhcpd -group _dhcp -chroot /var/dhcpd -cf /etc/dhcpd.conf bge0_vlan2 bge0_vlan7 bge0_vlan10' returned exit code '1', the output was 'Internet Systems Consortium DHCP Server 4.2.1-P1 Copyright 2004-2011 Internet Systems Consortium. All rights reserved. For info, please visit https://www.isc.org/software/dhcp/ /etc/dhcpd.conf line 161: expecting string. option host-name 6013; ^ Configuration file errors encountered - exiting If you did not get this software from ftp.isc.org, please get the latest from ftp.isc.org and install that before requesting help. I fixed this by logging into pfSense, and editing /etc/inc/services.inc.

ee /var/inc/services.inc
ctrl-e
option host-name
change {$dhhostname} to \"{$dhhostname}\"

I haven't found the official documentation saying this is correct, but I suspect it is.
