nrpe2 not restarting on save or service restart

Description

When changing the config of nrpe2 and you click Save or restarting nrpe from the Services menu, nrpe is not restarted and there is an error logged in the System log:

nrpe7950: Cannot remove pidfile '/var/run/nrpe2.pid' - check your privileges.
nrpe7950: Cannot remove pidfile '/var/run/nrpe2.pid' - check your privileges.

You can however restart nrpe2 from command line via:
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/nrpe2.sh stop
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/nrpe2.sh start
