Description

The latest release of imspector fails to start. Logfiles report the following missing files:
  • /usr/local/lib/imspector/dbfilterplugin.so
  • /usr/local/lib/imspector/dbresponderplugin.so
  • /usr/local/lib/imspector/sqliteloginplugin.so
  • /usr/local/lib/imspector/mysqlloginplugin.so

I would like to rectify a mistake I have made. Two of the missing files are actually called "sqlitelog*ging*plugin.so" and "mysqllog*ging*plugin.so"

The issue was solved by uninstalling the package, manually removing /usr/local/lib/imspector/ and installing imspector again.

I guess something went wrong during a past upgrade - might be worth looking into, but there's not much interest in this package anymore. It's a shame, really. Such a great tool.

  • Status changed from New to Needs Patch

As most all IM has moved to HTTPS or otherwise encrypted, its usefulness has declined significantly. The imspector project as a whole seems to have died off.

If there is a repeatable issue here, we'd be glad to accept a pull request to fix, probably not worth it for us to assign staff developer resources though.

I'd love to suggest a fix, but I'm not even sure where the repository is. There's a lot of imspector-related junk on the internet.
IMSpector is still extremely useful in countries like Romania, where there still is heavy Yahoo! Messenger traffic.
