Description

Hi,

we have several pfSenses as firewalls with loadbalancing. We're using haproxy-devel for our service, because the official haproxy-1.5 package wasn't released at this moment. The service runs fine, till this morning as I found the haproxy-service stopped on the firewall. I've checked some logfiles but couldn't find any hints that something went wrong (except the broken pipe), so I would like to open this bug, so that somebody with some deeper knowlegde of the product or the haproxy-packge could maybe tell us, what went wrong this morning.

Logs:

Starting from ca. 4 am at 27.07.2015, we got this messages:

After some quick investigation, we saw the the haproxy-service didn't run (there was a big red X in the service tab).

Jul 27 09:26:55 pfs-main lighttpd46141: (connections.c.277) SSL: -1 5 32 Broken pipe
Jul 27 09:28:24 pfs-main php: /haproxy_stats.php: Session timed out for user 'admin' from: x.y.z.a
Jul 27 09:28:54 pfs-main php: /index.php: Successful login for user 'admin' from: x.y.z.a
Jul 27 09:28:54 pfs-main php: /index.php: Successful login for user 'admin' from: x.y.z.a
Jul 27 09:29:28 pfs-main php: /status_services.php: The command '/usr/local/etc/rc.d/haproxy.sh stop' returned exit code '1', the output was 'haproxy not running?'

Finally we restarted the service and everything was normal again. So what caused the broken pipe? Did the issue came from the haproxy or was there a problem with the OS?

Thanks in advance

  • Status changed from New to Not a Bug

You're on a version that's no longer supported, and there isn't anything here that describes an actual bug (lighttpd logs have no relation to haproxy). Please use one of our available support resources for assistance.
