Bug #6558
closedPf-sense 2.3 doesn't detect shutdow event with em driver and Intel Chipset 82574L
0%
Description
Hi All,
as described in the title, with the 2.3 version of PF-Sense when you unplug an Ethernet cable from a gigabit port (emX), the system still see it connected.
Also, if you try to change the setting of an emX port, the changes are not detected; you need to reboot the appliance.
With version 2.2.6 this did not happen.
Is possible to do something to fix this bug?
Regards

- Status changed from New to Not a Bug
- Priority changed from High to Normal
subject isn't true in general, 82574L in the FW-7541 correctly detects link down and up. e1000 in VMware ESX and Workstation also does. Sounds like that's something specific to your combination of hardware. Post specifics to the forum

We are having the issue on Jetway NF9N-F board with her specific daugtherboard ADE4INLAN (with chipset in subject).
All those boards with those daughterboard have problem with 2.3 version of PF-Sense; it seem that em drivers are not loaded or are not working well.
Update: We tested also other card: Soekris lan1841 (same chipset 82574L), with the same result.
Is there a work around we can do?

Good morning, we do not had any news from you.
Let us know only if this bug is programmed to be solved in the next patches/release?
Wating for your reply.

No, it's not a bug in our code and doesn't affect any of the hardware we sell or have sold, so not something we'll address. It might be fixed in FreeBSD 11 if it's a real issue (isn't on any e1000 NICs I've seen, including 82574L), otherwise you need to replicate on stock FreeBSD and report there.

Solved.
