Description

2.3.2-RELEASE-p1 (full install).

I have a table which is updated via OpenBGP and currently contains more than 900 entries.

When restarting OpenBGP, the table is reloaded successfully. All update entries are shown in Status > System Logs > Routing and the table contains the expected number of entries.

However, the remote syslog server receives only the first 485 update entries, which seems to be very close to the default 500 entries in the GUI.

BGP logging is on in Status > System Logs > Settings. Log sizes are set to 2MB and GUI display items set to 1000. Settings saved and logs reset following that change.

  • Status changed from New to Rejected

Remote syslog server data is sent immediately as the log entries happen. There are no limits imposed on the data, it has no relation to the logs retained locally which are shown in the GUI. If it's being dropped or rate limited, it is likely happening on the syslog server.

Thanks, Jim.

Confirmed with WireShark to be a limitation of free Kiwi syslog server.
