Description

Hi,

I Believe I have discovered a little bug in the openVPN server config page. When configuring the DNS servers by going to VPN > OpenVPN > Servers > Edit icon of the OpenVPN connection. Scroll to the "*advanced client settings*" header and tick the "*provide a DNS server list to clients*" checkbox. Enter 2 DNS servers in there. For my testing I used a private and a public server. If I put the private server under the setting labeled "*DNS Server 1*" and the public under the other when connecting via VPN the public will be the first DNS server used by the client.

My specifics are below:

2.4.0-BETA (amd64)
built on Tue Jul 04 01:46:02 CDT 2017
FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE-p10

OpenVPN-client-export v1.4.12

Android 8.0.0 client

RADIUS authentication

If I'm missing anything I apologise, just let me know and I'll update as soon as I can.

Thanks.

The order is correct in the OpenVPN configuration and how it is pushed to clients. If your client is choosing a different DNS server order, that's up to the Client and the Client OS. The server is already doing all it can do. If you post to the forum, mailing list, reddit, etc, the perhaps someone can give you pointers about how to change your client to behave the way you want.
