Feature #7957
openGUI theme - separate "colour" from "compact/normal" in theme dropdown
0%
Description
At the moment one can choose themes such as normal, dark, and compact-RED.
There is also a colour selector with a wide range of colours for the login page only.
This means 1) you can't choose dark+compact, and 2) you can choose multiple login colours but only three theme colours once logged in.
It would be nice to rationalise this. For example, splitting out the colour (normal/dark/red) from the layout (normal/compact), and modifying the option for login page colour to have a default "Use same colour as theme".
This would leave the GUI with the following options:
GUI colour (Blue, green, red, purple, grey, dark grey, ...) - dropdown
Login page colour (Same as GUI colour, blue, green, red, purple, grey, dark grey, ...) - dropdown
Text colour - (white, light grey, dark grey, black)
Compact GUI layout? - checkbox
This seems trivial and would simplify and rationalise the GUI styling, as well as allowing more colours on pages, and compact layout on non-red.
Two minor points - (a) some colours won't be easy for the general GUI, so perhaps GUI pages need to be more restricted and just limited to light/dark grey, blue, red, green, etc. (b) Some people might like inversed colours (light on dark) for the GUI.
