Description

At my clients places i am using pfSense 1.2.2 and 1.2.3 with multi-WAN/multi-LAN and its working fine so far.

The problem is, that they have on both WANs a variable bandwidth depending on the day and the daytime.

For example:
ISP 1: 8 am to 8 pm --> 512 kbit/s down and 256 kbit/s up; 8 pm to 8 am (and at weekends/holidays) --> 1024 kbit/s down and 512 kbit/s up
ISP 2: 8 am to 8 pm --> 1024 kbit/s down and 256 kbit/s up; 8 pm to 8 am (and at weekends/holidays) --> 2048 kbit/s down and 1024 kbit/s up

Now it would be necessary to have a traffic shaper which is able to be scheduled to days and times for exact shaping.

For shaping multi-WAN i'm already looking forward to 2.0, maybe this feature will be able to be built in, or in a more future version. For me it would be a high priority, because i could need it as soon as possible, but i am not the guy to decide, how much work it is.

Where your bandwidth is scheduled like that, in 2.0 you can use schedule rules to apply different QoS parameters depending on the day and time of day.

Perfect! Thanks. I didn't had a chance yet to look at a 2.0 snapshot. Good to know.

By the way:
I like the pfSense. Keep on going like that!!!
