Bug #14005
openSFP Interfaces not available with Traffic Shaper in v23.01
0%
Description
I have dual Netgate 1541 in HA mode. The SFP interfaces LAN (cxl1) and WAN (cxl0) are not available for configuration in v23.01. If I boot one of the Netgate's in to v22.05, both interfaces are available for configuration, but not when it boots to v23.01.
The problem exists with both Netgate 1541.

I presume you're booting between different ZFS snapshots, correct? If you upgrade or reflash to 23.05.1, does it behave the same way? (You can get firmware images by submitting a TAC ticket at https://www.netgate.com/tac-support-request)

Hi Chris, Yes, I was booting between different snapshots v22.05 and then 23.01. The Netgates have been updated to 23.05.1 and the problem is still the same. I'm unable to see the Interfaces that are SFP clx0 and clx1. I can see the VLANs that are assigned to clx1, but not the interface LAN (clx1) or clx0.

For info; I have updated the Netgates to version 23.09.1 and the problem still exists. The interfaces Clx0 and clx1 (SFP+) are not available on the Traffic Shaper.

It has been 7 months since the last reply. Is this problem to be looked at or not? At the moment I cannot use the traffic shaper on the WAN or LAN interfaces as these are using the SFP+ ports. With version 22.05 I had a traffic shaper activated, but all versions since then will not support a traffic shaper on an interface that uses a SFP+ port.

shaping may not be supported on that driver and/or additional 'tuning' could be required, intel based sfp's (ix driver) are available for shaping in 24.03 and previous releases
