Description

basic_ldap_auth must use LDAPURI option (-H) to successfully connect using ldaps.

Usage: basic_ldap_auth -b basedn [options] [ldap_server_name[:port]]...
        ...
    -H URI            LDAPURI (defaults to ldap://localhost)
