Bug #11658
closedAmbiguous text in help and input validation error for system domain name

Description
I'm really sorry if this is the wrong place to put this.
Setting up my first pfsense netgate box and going through the "System - General Setup" page. The second input on the page is "Domain". The help/instructions below it say "Alternatives such as '.local.lan' or '.mylocal' are safe."
The input though will not allow a preceding period to be saved, and the error that it produces at the top of the screen when trying to save is not helpful. I'd like to propose that the wording under the "Domain" input be changed to omit the first period in the examples it uses, and the suggested alternatives.
To be totally complete though the wording at the top of the page in red when trying to save a domain that has a preceding period should also specify that a domain needs to start with a letter/number, as the current message seems to imply that periods are valid characters.
My assumption is that this is present across architecture/device, but in case that is specific the device I'm experiencing this on is an SG-1100 on 21.02-RELEASE

Looks good so far. The patch fixes the text to "Alternative TLDs such as 'local.lan' or 'mylocal' are safe."
