Bug #13859
closedWireguard peer doesn't connect on reboot
100%
Description
I installed experimental Wireguard 0.1.6_3 package on pfSense 2.7.0-DEVELOPMENT (amd64) built on Wed Jan 04 06:05:22 UTC 2023
Everything worked great until reboot. After reboot I noticed that peer handshake failed. I tried to disable and re-enable peer and it didn't help.
What did help was bringing wireguard interface down and back up again. After that peer connected successfully.
I have a Multi WAN configuration it it makes a difference.
Let me know if any other details would be helpful, but since testing is simple you might be able to reproduce it quickly yourself.

I tested on the latest 23.01-BETA and Wireguard 0.1.6_3
23.01-BETA (amd64)
built on Fri Jan 06 06:04:43 UTC 2023
FreeBSD 14.0-CURRENT
I can't reproduce this behavior, reboot peers one at a time, reboot both at the same time, no matter, after reboot the connection establish successful, without additional steps.

Update to 2.7.0.a.20230123.0600 fixed it for me too, I see Wireguard package was updated, must have contained some fixes. This can be resolved for now at least.
