Description

Running the AMD64 USB Memstick installer with VGA console.
Performed a zfs guided install to a mirror on 1 m.2 sata drive.

Confirmed the sata drive is functional, and the m.2 slot on the mobo is functional.

After reboot, the motherboard complains that no boot drive is found.

Inspection with gparted shows a zfs partition was created.

Re-installing with 2.6.0 using ufs+uefi allows the os to boot as expected.

This is almost certainly an issue with your hardware EFI/BIOS and not a bug in pfSense.

I thought so too. I was previously running a zfs install for 2y on 2.4.x without issue, until that drive became corrupted.

So, I could previously run a zfs fs on this hardware. When I switch to 2.6.0, suddenly it cant find the boot partition. I tried installing with both uefi and bios options.
Remember, I AM able to use all of the hardware by using UFS. Only a ZFS install seems to trigger this.

Of course it could be a hardware or bios issue, but after an initial round of analysis, I'm not so sure it's hardware.
