The ability to readily confirm TLS DNS would be established once saved.

Such a test wouldn't be ideal to mix in the settings since there are other required parts for that to work that aren't on that page. It would give the false impression that DoT would be used when it isn't fully configured.

We already have Diagnostics > DNS Lookup which performs DNS tests, it would be a more logical fit to add these sorts of tests there if they are feasible.
