The service status checks if the tailscaled process is running, not if it's actually logged in and connected. This is by design. We would need to develop an actual Tailscale widget (which I might do at some point).

Open a feature request for a Tailscale widget.
This issue as reported is not a bug, this is just how pfSense service status works...it checks for running processes and knows nothing about the operational state of the service.
It is reporting the status of whether the Tailscale process is running. That's fundamentally how this works in pfSense.

Why is it not a bug when the widget shows the status as running and the TS status shows it's down?!
Please reconsider it's a very annoying bug!
